Catherine Bearder

On Thursday 30th April, Catherine Bearder visited the Environment Centre in Southampton to hear how the support and funding they receive from the EU is helping the organization to grow. Catherine commented: "This charity is an example of the great work carried out with EU funding and highlights what Europe is doing to lead the world in cutting carbon emissions and to become a market leader in renewable energy."

"The advice the Environment Centre is giving to organisations, builders and architects is making a huge contribution to reducing the energy consumed by new buildings and to making them more environmentally sustainable."

"Not only does the Environment Centre work with local groups it also does excellent work in partnership with organisations across Europe to protect the environment and make our new homes more sustainable."
